Meet the Candidate
Michael A. Evans was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Chadsey High School and graduated from Ferndale High School.
He served his country as a United States Army veteran, built an accomplished career as a respected business owner, and raised five successful adult children — experiences that shaped his belief that real leadership requires discipline, honesty, service, and accountability.
Now Michael is running for Wayne County Executive to bring those same values to county government: responsibility, transparency, fairness, and sound business practices that work for all residents.

Learn moreWhy I'm Running
Politics as usual ends here.
For too long, people have been told that politics can't change — that unfair systems are simply the way things are, and that trying to make a difference is pointless. I don't accept that.
Wayne County residents deserve better. The old ways of running the show must be replaced with truth, fairness, transparency, fiscal responsibility, accountability, and opportunity.
I'm running to return government to the people — to support homeowners, empower local businesses, revitalize neighborhoods, protect taxpayer resources, and build a county government residents can trust.
Local Opportunity
Local investment creates jobs, stronger neighborhoods, business growth, career development, community wealth, upward mobility, a stronger tax base, and more opportunities for residents.
Verified figures will be published as they become available.
Homeowner Protection
When a homeowner faces foreclosure because of delinquent property taxes, the Evans administration would seek a process that recovers what the County is owed while giving the homeowner a fair opportunity to remain in their home.
When a homeowner faces foreclosure over delinquent property taxes, the goal is to keep the family in their home — not displace them.
After the County covers an eligible delinquent tax obligation, the campaign proposes exploring a penalty-free repayment structure over five years.
The focus is on homeowner success and stability, giving families a realistic path to remain in the homes and neighborhoods they love.
This is a campaign proposal, not current law. Policy details are subject to legal review, budget analysis, and approval through the appropriate governmental process.
